Plans to stage a Serie A match between AC Milan and Como in Australia have been abandoned.
The fixture in Perth would have been the first European domestic league game played abroad.

Serie A said the match was cancelled due to financial risks and last-minute conditions imposed by the Asian Football Confederation.
League president Ezio Simonelli described the requests as unacceptable.

Italian authorities had approved the move because the San Siro was unavailable in February.
UEFA had also reluctantly cleared the proposal earlier this season.

Serie A viewed the match as a chance to expand its global profile.
However, disputes over officiating control proved decisive.

The cancellation follows a similar reversal by La Liga over a proposed match in Miami.
